Parkway Village is a co-op complex located in Kew Gardens Hills Queens, New York. Parkway Village is located on 37 acres of land and has been there for more than 60 years. This complex, built in 1947, was originally home to the new staff of the United Nations and was one of the reasons the UN was based in New York. There are a grand total of 685 units in the complex. When it was first built, Parkway Village was an apartment rental community. In 1983 it became a co-op complex. The buildings that make up Parkway Village are two story and three story buildings which are covered in red brick and boast white columns. The buildings of Parkway Village are located in a park that the University of Virginia at Charlottesville was modeled after. The architectural style of the buildings is known as postwar garden.
